LTG-Greencycle is a South African food loss and waste management network established in 2024, connecting households, small businesses and larger enterprises to practical solutions that reduce food loss and spoilage, extend shelf life, minimize food waste, and support a more sustainable circular economy.
Food loss and waste contribute significantly to food insecurity, environmental pollution, unnecessary resource consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. LTG-Greencycle addresses these challenges by connecting communities and businesses to practical food preservation, waste diversion, recycling, organic waste beneficiation technologies and other sustainable solutions.
Through our network, members gain access to relevant products, services, technologies, environmental compliance support, administrative assistance and market opportunities designed to reduce food loss, extend food shelf life and prevent waste. Where food waste cannot be avoided, we support its diversion and beneficiation into valuable products such as compost, contributing to a more resource-efficient and circular economy.
Our mission is to reduce poverty and food loss, strengthen food security, minimize the environmental impact of food waste and methane emissions, and divert organic waste from landfills. We advance the circular economy by connecting people and businesses to innovative environmental technologies, practical services and market opportunities that enable food preservation, waste prevention, waste diversion, resource recovery and sustainable circular economy practices.
